For SS1 Tool for Windows, SS1 Tool for Android and this website · Effective October 14, 2026
Who we are
SS1 Tool for Windows and SS1 Tool for Android (the "apps") and this website are made by f3bandit, an independent individual developer who sells SS1 Tool for Android under the name F3 Digital Systems. Contact details are at the end.
What we never do
- We never sell, rent, trade or share your personal data.
- The apps have no advertising, analytics, crash reporting, tracking or accounts with us.
- The apps don't read your contacts, photos, messages, location, phone number, accounts, other apps, or advertising and device IDs.
- We don't have servers that receive data from the apps.
What stays on your device
- Saved SuperStations: the name, IP address and user you save. The password isn't saved.
- Settings and backups you create (for example MiSTer settings, saves, Bluetooth pairings), in the app's own folder.
- Reports you create: debug reports and app problem reports.
Uninstalling the app or deleting its folder removes them. None of this is sent to us.
What goes over the network, and where
- Your SuperStation One, over your home network (SSH), with the login you enter: to read its status and make the changes you ask for. Find my SuperStation reads the SSH greeting and network name of devices on your local network; it never tries to sign in to them.
- GitHub (operated by GitHub, Inc.): the apps read the Linux update advisory, check for SS1 Tool updates (Windows), and download Update All, scripts, the SD Card Installer and the MiSTer and BIOS databases when you use those features. GitHub sees your IP address, as with any website.
- RetroAchievements (retroachievements.org): only when you test or save a RetroAchievements login, the username and password you entered are sent to RetroAchievements to check them. The login token it returns isn't kept.
- TheGamesDB: only when you test an API key you entered, the key is sent to TheGamesDB.
- Google Play (SS1 Tool for Android is sold only on Google Play): Google handles the purchase, installs and updates under Google's privacy policy. The app doesn't contact our website or any other store for license or update checks; Google Play's own services on your device may, as they do for every Play app.
Those services handle data under their own privacy policies.
Reports you choose to share
Debug reports (about your SuperStation) and app problem reports (about how SS1 Tool for Android works on your phone) are created on your device and are only shared if you share them yourself. App problem reports contain your phone's model, Android and WebView versions, screen and text size, accessibility and battery settings, connection type, the app's permissions, a layout check, recent app errors, the layout of each page of the app and, if you choose, a screenshot of each page. Before the layout and screenshots are taken, the app hides IP and MAC addresses, device names, user names, network names and anything typed into text boxes. Debug reports contain your SuperStation's versions, settings, storage health and logs.
The apps remove passwords, keys, network names and IP and MAC addresses they recognise, and show you the whole report before you save or share it. If you post a report on GitHub, it becomes public under GitHub's terms. Please read reports before sharing them.
Buying SS1 Tool for Android
SS1 Tool for Android is sold only on Google Play. Google processes your purchase under its own privacy policy. We receive the order details Google shares with developers (such as the order number, country and price), and use them only for your order, refunds and support.
This website
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. It uses no cookies, analytics or trackers. GitHub may log visitors' IP addresses for security, under GitHub's privacy statement. The agreement boxes on this site aren't stored.
Children
The apps aren't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data about you. Because the apps keep data only on your device, you can delete it yourself. For order data we hold, contact us and we'll help. You can also contact Google about data Google Play holds.
Security
The apps only accept connections from the device they run on, protected by a random session token. SuperStation connections use SSH. Use the apps only on networks you trust.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects what the apps send or where, we'll say so in the release notes.
